- In a large heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir 3 minutes or until soft. Add garlic and ground turkey; cook and stir 5 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink.
- Stir in hominy, beans, cumin, oregano, chili powder, broth and tomatoes; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes. Season with freshly ground pepper to taste.
- Ladle chili into 6 soup bowls, top with Cheddar and green onions, and serve.
