Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. cumin seeds, toasted*
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 bone-in New York strip steaks, 1-inch thick

  1. Slightly crush cumin seeds; place in a small bowl. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, oregano, salt, cayenne and garlic powder; stir to combine.
  2. Coat grill with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium (300°F to 350°F). Trim fat from steaks. Rub both sides of steaks with spice mixture.
  3. Place steaks on grill. Grill 6 to 7 minutes per side (145°F for medium rare) or to desired doneness. Remove from grill, and serve.
