Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 to 6 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced (5 cups)
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. For the topping, in a small bowl stir together oats, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon. Place half the apple slices in baking dish; sprinkle with half the topping. Repeat layers.
  2. Place baking dish in oven. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm. If desired, serve topped with ice cream.
