Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3 bacon slices, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup half-and-half or light cream
  • 10 oz. hot cooked rotini or similar pasta
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrot

  1. In a 4-quart Dutch oven over medium-high heat, cook and stir beef, bacon, onion and carrot until beef is browned. Drain fat.
  2. Stir in marinara; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Stir in half-and-half.
  3. Place hot cooked pasta in a serving bowl or on a platter. Spoon sauce over pasta, sprinkle with Parmesan (if desired), and serve.
