Coconut Oil Original Chex Mix

A classic homemade Chex™ Mix recipe is a hit at any holiday party, but you’ll mix things up with a modern twist! In this recipe, subtly sweet coconut oil is a great alternative to butter and compliments the bold and rich flavors of this original favorite.

  • 9 cups Chex cereal (equal parts Rice Chex, Corn Chex and Wheat Chex)
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup peanuts


  1. In large microwavable bowl, combine Rice Chex™, Corn Chex™, Wheat Chex™, pretzels, and peanuts; set aside.
  2. In small microwavable bowl, microwave coconut oil uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings.
  3. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
  4. Microwave uncovered on high 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
