Ingredients

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. brown sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp. margarine, cut into pieces and softened
  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 3 Golden Delicious apples, cored, peeled and sliced
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly greased an 11x7-inch baking dish; set aside. In a large bowl combine oatmeal, flour, 1/2 cup of the brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly; set aside.
  2. In another large bowl combine cherries, apples, orange juice, granulated sugar and remaining 2 tablespoons brown sugar; mix well. Place in baking dish. Sprinkle with oatmeal mixture.
  3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
