Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 (16-oz.) cans baked beans
  • 2 (16-oz.) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15.8-oz.) can great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 8 oz. bacon slices, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 1 1/2 cups honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (14-oz.) pkg. boil-in-bag white or brown rice (4 bags)

  1. In a large skillet cook and stir ground beef, bacon and onion over medium-high heat until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat.
  2. Transfer to a 6-quart slow cooker. Stir in beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare rice according to package directions. Spoon bean mixture over rice, and serve.
