St. Julian Lake Michigan Shore Traminette

An alternative to Riesling, fruity and aromatic without being sweet, refreshing chilled and sipped or served with fresh summer fruit --ripe peaches!--and cheese or with spicy, oriental food. - Kyle Doolittle, Grand Haven

Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

This is the style of Cabernet that I just love. A big cabernet that has plenty of tannin, but is extremely well balanced, with just the right amounts of fruit, spice, and earth. I always recommend this wine for special occasions. - Scott Campbell, Breton Village

Juan Gil Monastrell

Lush and redolent with notes of plums and dark fruits. Well balanced by its acidity and firm tannins, this wine pairs beautifully with grilled and roasted red meats, especially lamb. - Bob Goehring, Gaslight Village

Mas Donis Barrica 2012

A mind blowing value, this is an old world blend of Grenache & Syrah from the ancient region of  Monstant  in Spain. Medium-bodied with shades of violet and flavors of red cherries, blackberry and spice. The mouth feel is ripe and complex with velvety tannins.  Pair with: lamb, chicken, pork, rice & grilled vegetables. - Shane Mortensen, Holland

Rosemount Traminer Riesling

Something refreshing and slightly sweet to go with fruit and cheese or with spicy oriental dishes. This wine grabbed my attention and opened up the wide world of wine for me some years ago. I still go back to it and am delighted every time. - Greg VanOverloop, Wine and Spirits Category Manager

La Linda Malbec

An easy drinking Malbec. We directed imported the wine at an amazing price AND it also has a rebate off a 6-bottle or case purchase. So it is a great value. - Pam Koeze, Knapp's Crossing

Apaltagua Carmenere Rose

It is still summer, so I am drinking more whites and dry rosés. Chill rosés as you would white wines. They have a bit more body than most white wines and pair nicely with grilled meats OR seafood and salads. Perfect with appetizers. - Roz Mayberry, D&W Wine Buyer and Consultant

2010 Tinto Pesquera

I'm going to take advantage of the 20% sale to buy a bottle or two of 2010 Tinto Pesquera (Ribera del Duero). Its rated up to 93 points, so it's a very good buy. Pesquera is a true favorite of mine for its delicious mouth-watering fruit, Spanish oak and its smooth, velvety texture and a long, long aftertaste!  And I'll be matching Pesquera with lamb chops this weekend. - Don Davis, Cascade
