  • COVID-19 vaccines and recommended boosters are available at all pharmacy locations. Vaccine products from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Novavax are available. Daily availability may vary or be limited depending on location. To ensure you can receive the vaccine product you would like, please consider contacting your pharmacy location to ensure availability.
  • All COVID-19 vaccine products and doses are administered according to current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations.
  • At this time, all persons aged 5 years and older are eligible to receive an age-appropriate COVID-19 primary series vaccination(s) (i.e., Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Novavax) for the prevention of COVID-19.
  • All persons aged 12 years and older are eligible, regardless of primary series product received or number of original (monovalent) boosters previously received, to receive 1 age-appropriate updated (bivalent) mRNA booster dose at least 2 months after completion of their primary series or last original (monovalent) booster dose received.
  • All persons aged 5-11 years are eligible to receive 1 age-appropriate original (monovalent) mRNA booster dose at the appropriate interval based on immune status.
  • Please note that dependent on your state of residence, applicable state law(s) and/or Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations may affect the age eligible for pharmacy-based vaccination.

COVID-19 vaccine recommendations vary person to person depending on your age, your immune status, and the time since your last COVID-19 vaccine dose. Your pharmacist can help answer this question. Just ask!

When Am I Up to Date on My COVID-19 Vaccine(s)?

The CDC states that you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines when you have completed a COVID-19 vaccine primary series and received the most recent booster dose recommended for you.

How Can I Receive My Recommended COVID-19 Vaccine or Booster Dose?

Our Pharmacy Immunizers welcome walk-ins, with no appointment necessary, during regular pharmacy hours of operation. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment ahead of time.

What do I need to bring to the pharmacy?

A face mask: While performing your vaccination, we require that both you and the Pharmacy Immunizer wear a face mask covering both your nose and mouth. If you do not have an appropriate face mask, one will be provided to you at the pharmacy or clinic site.

Please bring government issued photo identification, medical insurance card, prescription insurance card, and COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, when possible.

Upon arrival to the pharmacy, you may be asked to complete a COVID-19 vaccination voucher or screening form.

Why do I need to complete this form?
The vaccination voucher or screening form allows your Pharmacy Immunizer to ensure that the right COVID-19 vaccine, for the right person, at the right time, and in the right way is being administered to you. Answering these questions assists your Pharmacy Immunizer in providing you a safe and informed vaccine experience.

Your Pharmacy Immunizer will review your completed COVID-19 vaccination voucher or screening form with you, provide you with the appropriate vaccine documents, and answer any questions you might have regarding the vaccine or your vaccination.

Receive your COVID-19 immunization in a clean and safe environment.

It will be recommended for you to remain in the pharmacy area for 15 to 30 minutes following your COVID-19 vaccine.

The CDC recommends the above observation periods following COVID-19 vaccination to monitor for allergic reactions.

How common are allergic reactions following a COVID-19 vaccination?
Per the CDC, anaphylactic reactions have been rarely reported following a COVID-19 vaccination. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and very effective and severe reactions are rare.

Who is Eligible?

Our Pharmacy Immunizers administer all COVID-19 vaccines in accordance with current CDC/ACIP recommendations. If you have any questions about whether you are currently eligible for a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, please ask your pharmacist.

Is There a Minimum Age Requirement?

Our Pharmacy Immunizers can immunize all persons 5 years of age and older in accordance with current CDC/ACIP recommendations. Please note that dependent on your state of residence, applicable state law(s) and/or Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations may affect the age eligible for pharmacy-based vaccination.

Is it Free?

Our Pharmacy team will always inform you of a co-payment and/or cost, if applicable, PRIOR to vaccination.

Are There Side Effects to a COVID-19 Vaccine?

While some people may experience no side effects, others have reported headache, fatigue, and soreness in the arm where you receive the vaccination. Other side effects may include muscle pain, chills, fever, and nausea.

Should you experience side effects, most go away after a few days. If you have side effects that last longer than two days, please contact your pharmacist and/or provider for further guidance.

If you experience a severe allergic reaction, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital.
 

What if I Have a History of Allergies or Allergic Reactions?

Your pharmacist will review any history of allergic reactions, to any medications and previous vaccinations, with you PRIOR to administering the vaccine.
 

What Safety Measures Will be Taken When Administering the Vaccine?

If you are sick or not feeling well on the day of your appointment, please contact the pharmacy to reschedule your appointment for a later date. Please do not come to the pharmacy or clinic site if you are sick or not feeling well.

While performing your vaccination, we require that both you and the Pharmacy Immunizer wear a face mask covering both your nose and mouth. If you do not have an appropriate face mask, one will be provided to you at the pharmacy or clinic site. Your Pharmacy Immunizer will wear a face mask and latex-free medical use gloves.

The immunization administration area will be sanitized between each patient.
