At D&W Fresh Market, we love Earth Week because it supports our local communities through our partnership with Goodwill – and it keeps clothes, electronics and household goods out of landfills and reduces our environmental footprint.
Through our parent company, SpartanNash, our Earth Week efforts work to engage and educate our store guests, communities and associates, all while celebrating and promoting environmental stewardship.
In 2019, SpartanNash’s Earth Week initiatives will take place April 15-22.
When you visit any of our D&W Fresh Market stores during Earth Week, be sure to visit our Earth-friendly displays, highlighting “better for you” products like Full Circle organic products, Cameron’s Coffee, Aveeno, Cheerios and Nature Valley and “better for the Earth” cleaning products including Our Family vinegar and Mrs. Meyers.
And while you’re doing your Spring cleaning using these Earth-friendly products, be sure to box up any unused clothes, electronics and household goods you find lying around – because if you donate those items at a participating Goodwill location on April 19 or 20, you’ll earn a $10 off a $25 coupon good at any D&W Fresh Market.
That’s right! In partnership with nine Goodwill organizations in Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin, customers who bring in donations to any participating Goodwill stores on Friday, April 19 or Saturday, April 20 will receive a coupon book that includes savings on organic spinach and Cameron’s Coffee EcoPods – as well as a coupon for $10 off a $25 or more purchase at our stores.
So gather up your unused items and bring them to any participating Goodwill location April 19 and 20 to celebrate Earth Week with D&W Fresh Market and SpartanNash! The full list of Goodwill locations handing out the coupon books can be found HERE.
Since 2011, our company-wide Earth Week Goodwill donation drives have collected more than 630,740 pounds of donations, equal to 135,098 hours of workforce development training in the communities we serve.
At D&W Fresh Market and our parent company SpartanNash, we are mindful that our business decisions, products, services and operations have a direct impact on the environment, our communities, customers and coworkers. We define this intentional decision-making process as our company’s corporate responsibility commitment.
You can see our Corporate Responsibility commitment in our stores – where we highlight efforts such as reducing our carbon footprint and conserving energy – as well as in SpartanNash’s 2017 Corporate Responsibility Report, which highlights accomplishments in both social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
