Nothing quite says Thanksgiving like a beautiful and bountiful cornucopia centerpiece. While you can easily buy a faux cornucopia, making one with fresh fruits and vegetables is such a fun touch to your Thanksgiving meal. Here are some fun tips on a Fresh DIY Cornucopia you can make right in your own kitchen.
Start with a basket. While the classic cornucopia shape is more cone like, you can always use a basket you already have at home and still pull off a similar look. If you’re feeling extra adventurous you can weave bread dough onto a cone shape of baking foil, once baked you have a weaved cornucopia bread basket… now that’s creative!

Fill the center of your cornucopia with a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables. If going for a classic autumn look, stick to these recommended fruits and vegetables to compliment the colors:
- Green & Red Grapes (on the vine)
- Small Pumpkins
- Radishes or carrots (both on stem – found in organic produce)
As your cornucopia fills up, you can layer in some cheese, crackers, cured meats, and dips around the vegetables, creating a cornucopia charcuterie board look. The fun of creating your own cornucopia is to be able to eat all the fresh foods, so make sure to arrange for snacking.
